Playing in the Third Division, 21-year-old László Kleinheisler scores goal of his carrer in first appearance for the national side
Hungary stunned Norway on Thursday in the first of their Euro 2016 play-off game with a fine goal from László Kleinheisler, a 21-year-old midfielder, who made his debut in the national team. National team coach Bernd Storck took a gamble in playing the footballer, who has not played this season, after he was demoted to the second team. His goal put Hungary a step closer to qualify for their first major final since 1986 and their first European Championship tournament since 1972.

Storck has previously worked with Kleinheisler when he coached the U21 team prior to taking the job at the national team. ”He is an excellent player, Andy Möller also shares this view. He is not playing in Videoton, but that has to do with his contract. In the U21 he was brilliant, world class quality, fast, agressive and two-footed”, he said.
The player's manager István Nagy speaking to Index.hu praised the two German coaches for spotting "his dynamism, quick reactions, his ability to play with both feet, his winning attitude and his modesty, which sets him apart from other players"..
"My phone was ringing at 7 AM, a club manager from Poland was congratulating me. He wanted to be the first, which has a message in our business", Nagy told the news portal. The manager expressed his hope that they can get an offer which is mutually acceptable for everyone so that Hungary's new talent can develop his football skills further in another club.
Hungary's suprising win came on the day, that Hungarian international goalkeeper Márton Fülöp lost his battle with cancer at the age of 32. His teammates honoured his memory wearing black armbands and with that crucial victory.
