Nigerian bishop thanks Hungary

The aid worth EUR 1 million which Hungary provided for the African diocese as part of the Hungary Helps Programme is a vital lifeline, Bishop of the Diocese of Sokoto in Nigeria wrote in a letter to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Matthew Hassan Kukah highlighted he was convinced that the Hungarian aid contributes to helping people in a difficult situation in their own country to stay in their native land, instead of leaving it.

At the beginning of June, the Hungarian government decided to support Nigerian Christian families as well as families forming part of other persecuted minorities, and to help these communities to stay in their home country, Kormany.hu reports.
